The Story Museum is looking for passionate and engaging people to be a living embodiment of story across the Museum for our visitors of all ages.
You will be a key presence in all areas of our fantastic and most unusual new Museum, from telling traditional oral stories in the Whispering Wood to running interactive early years sessions in mall Worlds. You’ll be equally confident telling stories, singing songs, dressing up and welcoming visitors however small or tall. You’ll also need to be prepared to get stuck into the practical side of things– moving furniture, cleaning the exhibits, tidying up and stepping in when your colleagues need a hand.

We have a range of positions available and will provide training including for candidates who have the right aptitude and enthusiasm and need more experience.

Main purpose of the role
• Provide an engaging and informed first point of contact for visitors to the Museum
• Facilitate and encourage imaginative play in the exhibition spaces
• Deliver story and play sessions, host birthday parties
• Help to maintain installations and exhibition spaces to high standards

Full time and Part time contracts available. Minimum of 3 days (21.5 hours per week).
Weekend, Bank Holiday and evening working will be required as part of a shared rota
