The Immigrant is an entirely non-verbal production, in the tradition of Charlie Chaplin’s films, using visual, physical and slapstick comedy to tell the bittersweet story of people starting a new life in the West today.
Based on hundreds of accounts of what it is like to come to live in an unfamiliar culture, the show is about the universal theme of trying to fit in when you stand out.

Following a successful trial tour last year, we have received funding from Arts Council England and Oxford City Council for a tour of 16 venues mainly in South and East England this autumn.

Like any good silent movie, sound plays a crucial role in story-telling, scene-setting and atmosphere for hearing members of our audiences. The production currently has a full soundtrack created during our R&D phase, but we are now looking for a multi-skilled Sound Designer and Composer to build on what we have already made - generating new sound effects and soundscapes to flesh out the world of the play, accentuate the visual comedy, and to create new music in an appropriate style to support the on-stage action.

Experience programming and editing Qlab essential.
