Sobell House Hospice are delighted to announce that submissions are open for My Lovely Postcards, our biennial art exhibition and auction in aid of Beth’s Bursary Fund. We’re asking artists from all over Oxfordshire and beyond to donate postcard sized pieces to our exhibition, this year hosted at the beautiful Cloisters Gallery in Oxford between 9th and 11th of November. We’re very excited to once again have the opportunity to showcase a diverse range of talented artists for a wonderful cause, so please do join us.

All proceeds raised from the auction will go towards Beth’s Bursary Fund, which supports nurses to receive further training and education in palliative care. Continuing professional development is key to providing the very best care, informed by the latest medical research and techniques. The Fund, established in 2017 in memory of Beth Foreman, has provided over £25,000 in bursaries to more than 50 recipients, thanks in no small part to the generosity of the Oxfordshire art community. By providing nurses with opportunities to gain the specialist skills they need, we’re able to make a long-lasting impact on the quality of palliative care here at Sobell House Hospice and further afield.

We’re grateful to be part of such a special event, and to bring together the local community to raise funds and to remember Beth. The Foreman family said “Beth was a wonderful, creative person - she would have loved getting stuck in to the 'My Lovely Postcards' project. We miss her every day, but this is a lovely celebration of her life, and a fantastic way to help support the work of the staff at Sobell House who looked after her so well."

To take part, please visit our website, www.sobellhouse.org/my-lovely-postcards, and fill out our submission form. Alternatively, call us on 01865 857008 or email mylovelypostcards@sobellhospice.org to request a paper submission form instead.

The deadline for registering is 5th August 2019, and all artworks should be received by us no later than 3rd September 2019.
