We are looking for a keen intern with a passion for reading to help the Learning and Participation team to deliver our Extreme Reading Adventures programme. Extreme Reading is a very successful project aimed at children who have been identified as ‘reluctant readers’. Over six weekly sessions the children explore six books, each with a related ‘activity’ adventure to help them make emotional connections with reading, stimulate their desire to read and encourage them to start reading for pleasure, thereby improving their literacy skills.

The role will involve helping to administer the project, liaising with teachers and parent, devising activities and preparing lesson resources for the sessions, helping deliver the sessions and assisting with data collection and evaluation of the project.

This is a part-time post for 25 days from Monday 8 April 2019 – Friday 17 May 2019, including Saturday 27 April, Saturday 4 May and Saturday 11 May, with a salary of £7.50-£8.21 per hour depending on age.
