Street Dance Tutor (maternity cover)

We are looking for an experienced, enthusiastic and reliable street dance tutor to work on Body Politic’s community outreach programme “The ‘M’ Word” in Oxford.  Tutors must have experience at working with young people aged 10-16yrs from a variety of backgrounds, skill, and experience. Tutors must be able to lead and devise a session: including warm-up, teaching choreography, and delivering choreographic tasks.
 
We are particularly looking for dance tutors who are able to commit to weekly after-school dance sessions in Barton, Blackbird Leys and/or Rose Hill.
 
Successful candidates should be confident in presenting the following:
• Delivering engaging dance sessions that are accessible to a wide range of young people.
• High standard of positive behaviour management
• Good quality teaching and creating work for the stage/performance.
• A good understanding of the aims and ethos of Body Politic.
• The ability to encourage, inspire and engage young people.
 
A valid DBS and public liability insurance are fundamental. First Aid Training and safeguarding training are desirable.
