An actor and accordion player (ideally one who is also a multi-instrumentalist, violin/upper strings especially welcome) is wanted to perform as part of a small band of musicians and acting ensemble for ‘Hidden Spire’ - an exciting theatre project featuring professional artists and homeless people, which is being staged at the Old Fire Station in Oxford, in October.
Must enjoy performing live, be versatile/adaptable, able to improvise and open to working with vulnerable adults. You need to be available for 9 weekday rehearsals between 25th September - 10th October and four performances on 11th, 12th, 13th and 14th October. Plus a musician only rehearsal on Weds 20th September.
Dates needed:
20 Sept musicians’ rehearsal
25-27 Sept x 3 days with whole company
2, 4, 5 & 6 Oct x 4 days with whole company
9-14 Oct x 6 days (including shows on 11-14th Oct) with whole company
The music is likely to include circus-cabaret-vintage styles, but is currently in development!
The piece will be set backstage at a circus and has been written by a professional writer in response to a collaborative research and development process.
Fee: £1260 + travel expenses if travelling from outside of Oxford
Audition date: 17th July in Oxford
