A Season of Arts and Science – Artist Call Out

Over the past few months, as part of our #BicesterArts ventures, OYAP Trust has been exploring the link between science and arts in a season of STEM to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths) programmes. We believe the arts and sciences both hold creativity, curiosity and ingenuity at their core and our term programmes have sought to explore this relationship.

We are now in the process of organising an Arts and Science Festival to take place over the April school breaks to explore these concepts further. The festival will take place between the 10th - 21st of April 2017.

We are looking for a variety of workshops that:
• Take place in different locations across the town.
• Are aimed at young people between the ages of 7-17. (Workshops do not have to be targeted at the entire age range and can be focused smaller age groups.)
• Varying in length from 2 hours to 2 days.
• Have both science and creativity at their heart, including elements of both the arts (dance, drama, visual arts, digital arts, craft, woodwork, music, poetry etc) and the sciences (chemistry, engineering, physics, robotics, coding, computer, skills, biology, etc).

We would like to invite artists, scientists and creatives to get involved with us on this project. We request that all interested individuals or groups submit a 500-word project proposal and rough budget (budgets should include artist fees and material costs) to admin@oyap.org.uk by Monday 27th February 2017

One of OYAP Trust’s core aims is to develop new partnerships that will bring a range of cultural opportunities to Bicester! We’d love for you to join us, and to hear your thoughts on this project and any other aspects of our work.

Kind regards,
The OYAP Team
