What? This workshop provides the perfect opportunity for participants to unleash their creativity by exploring the world of paper manipulation and decoration. The session is designed to introduce simple paper engineering techniques that enable participants to create a unique folded architectural book structure. Be prepared to leave the session with plenty of ideas to create more handmade books for yourself!

Through a series of practical exercises, participants will learn how to use folded elements to create exciting pages that conceal and reveal details and information. The workshop also covers how to create a decorative cover by adapting existing cardboard packaging, which will house the pages of the book. The interior and exterior spaces of OVADA Gallery will be used as inspiration and participants will have time to explore the gallery's unique interior and exterior surfaces to gather inspiration for their book's pages. In addition to paper engineering, the workshop also covers the use of colours, symbols, and textural surface techniques like frottage and collage to enhance the reader's experience. Paper punches and stamps will also be available for participants to add further detailing to their creations.
