Cowley Road Works (CRW), the charity which organises Oxford’s iconic Cowley Road Carnival, announces plans for celebrating Mother Earth for Carnival @ Home ’21 on 4 July by taking the party to the people with Eco Floats parading the city.

Due to the uncertainties and unpredictable nature of the pandemic, plans for Carnival celebrations of this year’s theme ‘Mother Earth’ will feature Eco Floats around the city, virtual livestreams on the day (4th July 2021) and an alternative event which can still be delivered and enjoyed if the current Government roadmap and rules change.

Instead, this year’s Carnival is all about celebrating with your family and friends at home and in your neighbourhood. We are organising a parade of eco floats which will be decorated by local artists, schools, and other groups in the community. We are also encouraging people to decorate houses and organise their own street parties.

There will be opportunities to get involved. This is a call out for Oxford’s artists, musicians, song-makers, poets, performers, DJS, schools, teachers, community groups and individuals from every corner of the city to sign up and join in.
