Curvilinear, the sweet spot exhibition where photography meets ceramics
Take Tracy Florance’s contemporary photographic images from around the world, and add Sally Dorrity’s unique hand-thrown ceramics, and you’ll be transported into a world of curves and lines.
Tracy and Sally began collaborating with their exhibitions because they recognised the way their art forms complement one another. The straightness of photographic architecture, both internal and external and the way ceramics introduces us to natural textures, shapes and lines
It is a collaboration that takes your senses on a journey and soothes us into Autumn.
“I am constantly experimenting with different shapes,” says Sally, “new glazes and glaze combinations, taking my inspiration from the natural world around me, producing small vases and dishes to large Ali-baba pieces and sculptural pots.”
“Taking my camera with me wherever I go,” Tracy carries on to say, “gives me the inspiration to capture the essence of places I visit, ultimately, I’m drawn to capturing patterns and shapes that others might miss.”
Both Tracy and Sally have exhibited widely around the UK and will bring Curvilinear to West Ox Arts Gallery in Bampton from September 22nd to October 13th.
Opening Reception (with drinks): Saturday, September 22nd, 12 - 2pm in the Gallery.
“Meet the Artists” event on Saturday, October 13th 11.30am - 6pm
