This exciting course is suitable for everyone from beginners to experienced engravers.
You will be working on polymer, end-grain boxwood and lemonwood to explore the potential for fine line and tonal engraving with specialised tools. The course progresses to inking, printing and hand burnishing the blocks on Japanese and European papers using both hand printing and an Albion relief press.

Participants may bring any objects, sketches or photographs that will suit small-scale black and white imagery. Soft pencils, a fine black permanent pen - and even a smart phone or tablet will not go amiss. For developing engraved imagery, coloured paper scraps, watercolours or coloured pencils may also be handy but not essential.
