I am an artist/printmaker based at the Strawbale Gallery in Duns Tew, which I share with my partner Rosie Fairfax-Cholmeley, also a writer, printmaker and illustrator. I am currently Artist in Residence of Oxford University working at Wytham Woods on the outskirts of Oxford City, and am engaged in a project connecting my artistic response to the woodlands with the scientific ecological work undertaken by the University researchers who are based there.

I make woodblock and linocut prints, some of which can be seen at the current OneOak exhibition in the Natural History Museum, and more of which will be on show during Arts Week in Duns Tew and between 12th May-30 September this year in the Natural history museum (Oxford). I also have a show at the Gardens Gallery in Cheltenham in July.

Throughout the year I teach printmaking and bookbinding courses at Duns Tew, details of which are available from my website. I also undertake commisions, particularly for portraits and architecture. In the coming year I have been asked to join Harris Manchester College of Oxford University as artist in residence to write and illustrate a book about the Victorian diarist Rev Francis Kilvert which will engage with the countryside around around Hay-on-Wye, which the diarist loved and described so evocatively in his written work. Some of the preliminary linocut images from this project are shown below.
