Debbie has been potting for 16 years, coming up through the adult education / City & Guild route.

Debbie has a passion for hand-built organic forms and occasionally includes mould making elements. For the several years she focused on making teapots (some would say, indeed many did, she was obsessed ). However she has developed her work into more organic forms, which incorporate long stems (spouts) and have a distinctly anatomical feel about them.

Debbie works predominantly in earthenware, with occasional forays into stoneware and even porcelain, using a small palette glazes. Just recently Debbie has re-discovered burnishing and smoke-firing, with examples including small teapots.

Debbie has had work exhibited at the South Hill Park Open Ceramics exhibition 2004 and the International Women’s week exhibition in the Arts Centre in Basingstoke in 2005. The work was entitled “A Mountain of Washing-up”. It did include a teapot. She has also been selected for the New Greenham Arts Open in 2010 and the Runnymede Gallery Spring Open in 2011

Debbie works as a Pottery tutor for New Directions. She also practises and teaches Tai chi.

Debbie is happy to discuss sales and commissions.
