I am a painter and to support my practice I also teach in schools, universities and run my own workshops and painting holidays in Cornwall.
My interest is in colour and the shapes of places. The catalyst for me is the coast, in particular harbour towns with their mixture of the natural and the man-made but my aim is always to transform my subject into something new and my paintings constantly change and evolve during the painting process. Anything can happen in my paintings and often does. In 2005 I moved to Cornwall to be closer to the landscape that inspires a lot of my work.

I have been a Visiting Lecturer at Canterbury Christchurch University and have taught at KHIB, Bergen, Norway (National Academy of Art).
I am a gallery artist at Modern Artists Gallery , Reading, Riverside Gallery, Barnes and The Gloss Gallery, Exeter. Other galleries I have exhibited at include Edgar Modern, Bath, Campden Gallery, Chipping Campden and the Belgrave Gallery, St Ives.
