Atlantic Septet

Robert Thompson was appointed Principal Bassoonist with the Orchestre Symphonique de Québec in 2026. He is one of the founders of the is the ‘Atlantic Septet’. He is bringing a group of Juilliard musicians to London for a collaboration with the Royal Academy of Music and they will have played music by Berg, Stravinsky and Bartók at the BBC Proms in the Royal Albert Hall on August 10th. He and his colleagues have formed the ‘Atlantic Septet’, to honour their dedication to collaborative chamber music.

At St Giles’ Church Oxford, on Wednesday 12 August at 1:00pm, their program will showcase the Beethoven Septet Op.20, for violin, viola, cello, bass, bassoon, clarinet, and French horn, as well as other repertoire that explores their diverse instrumentation.

Admission is free - do join us if you can!

With best wishes,
