Fusion Arts is excited to present new works by Toussaint J. Miller. Measured Truths is a new body of ceramic sculptures created to confront the hidden violence within modern medicine’s visual culture.

The work responds to specific historical case studies in which photography, anatomical illustration, and clinical documentation were weaponised to fix the Black body within narratives of racial hierarchy.

Toussaint J. Miller is a multidisciplinary artist working across ceramics, music, and the histories of science and medicine. His practice forms part of a broader inquiry developed through his Masters at the University of Oxford, examining medical ethics and representations of Black subjects in American medicine. His abstract sculptural forms reframe these histories, foregrounding humanity often obscured within archival records.
