Iraqi Women, Art and War (IWAW) present an exhibition celebrating women’s creativity across cultures, through sustainable fashion and mixed-media storytelling. Founded in Oxford, the community group aims to give women who have been affected by conflict an opportunity to process their experiences and tell their stories through art.

IWAW first created a sustainable fashion show in 2024 in collaboration with Cherwell Collective. IWAW designers and models took part in this show inspired by their own cultures and stories, with many of the fashions appearing in this new exhibition.

The fashion exhibition highlights not only the beauty and craftsmanship of sustainable fashion, but also the strengths and solidarity of women using art as a tool for healing and empowerment.

Don't miss IWAW Pop Up Cafe and Mesopotamian Supper Club on Sunday 17 May and taste authentic Iraqi cuisine.
