Natalie Gray is a British abstract artist, currently studying a Master’s in Fine Art at Oxford Brookes University. Her first solo exhibition, “‘Resonates’ (vibrations)”, involves drawing to music, as a professional experience project collaborating with the Oxford Improvisers.

The one-hour performance, with Oxford Improvisers will be documented through video and live drawings to music, displayed on a monitor in a loop. It will be advertised through flyers and Instagram.

Drawing to music visually represents interpretations of tempo and melody through swirls, cello deep, long, curved lines, zigzag scratchy violins, and airy flutes. Sound, through art, can convey interpretations of colour, line, and pattern.

Natalie is inspired by contemporary deaf artist Christine Sun, who explores themes of vibrations in her artwork and sign language.

The exhibition runs on through Sunday 19th April 12-6 PM.
