A talk by Bernadette Tildsley. Live in the Museum and Live-streamed.
Learn about the artists who were employed by the Government through The War Artists Scheme, directed by the Ministry of Information. Many famous and illustrious artists were recruited, put in uniforms and then usually sent to France or Belgium . Amongst the artists featured are John Singer Sergeant, Alfred Munnings, Stanley Spencer and the Nash brothers.
