Hope Street Consort

A programme of choral music centred on the Christ’s journey to the cross
Former St Giles’ Choral Scholar, Roshan Hall, returns to St Giles’ with The Hope Street Consort to present a programme of choral music centred on the Christ’s journey to the cross.

The Hope Street Consort is a 6-part vocal ensemble based in Liverpool. Their name is inspired by the iconic street that connects the city’s two Cathedrals, where members of the consort perform as Choral Scholars and Lay Clerks.

Known for their flexibility in repertoire and clean sound, the consort has quickly gained recognition. Since their first concert in July 2024 they have had a busy year, including an appearance at Prescot Festival 2025, a concert under Luke Jerram’s Helios at Liverpool Cathedral, and many recitals and concerts across the North-West. The consort have also premiered three new commissions by local Liverpool composers during a flagship concert with Atticus Arts at the Shakespeare North Playhouse in June 2025.

Programme includes:
Fair nymphs - Farmer
Ave virgo sanctissima - Guerrero
O sacrum convivium - Tallis
Crux fidelis - Cousins
Drop, drop, slow tears - Walton
Recessit pastor roster - Victoria
Sepulto domino - Victoria
Beati quorum via - Stanford
Sing joyfully - Byrd
The Road Home - Paulus
