Gold medallist at the Van Cliburn International Piano Competition 2013, Ukraine-born pianist Vadym Kholodenko is noted for his 'crystalline delicacy' and ‘iron-clad technique’. He will need the latter for the final piece in this programme: Liszt’s Paganini Etudes in the original – and stunningly difficult to play – version.
