Venue, Timing and Cost
In this 2-hour worshop you will learn how to get to grips with Pen & Ink. Learn the various options available to you including traditional dip pens, fine-line pens and a brush. Ink is a wonderful medium and far more flexible than you've been led to believe! During this 2 hour workshop we will be working in black and white, using pure line to describe different structures, textures and mood. You will learn about line weight and how to vary the line. We will be looking at the drawings of Van Gogh and how he uses line to describe a landscape. This workshop is aimed at beginners; no experience necessary. This workshop can also help those who might not yet be confident with using inks. Your teacher, Amy Letts, is (trying to) participate in Inktober / Artober (daily drawings in Ink for one month), and has done so for the past 2 years. She has many tips and tricks for you. Materials: A Black Sharpie, black fine line pens (I will be using Unipin 0.8, 0.5 and 0.03). Basic pen and nib, Indian Ink and a paint brush (round, aprox. size 6). Cartridge Paper. All materials are available to borrow. I I encourage students to get the materials if they can to enable practise at home.
