We are thrilled to able to welcome back our former student, the outstanding oboist Ewan Millar, to conclude our 2022-2023 season. Ewan was finalist in the COVID-disrupted BBC Young Musician of the Year concerto final in 2020, where he gave an incredibly powerful and memorable performance of Oscar Navarro’s ‘Legacy’ Concerto for oboe and orchestra. Tonight’s concert features a rare opportunity to hear David Walter’s highly-virtuosic transcription of the Franck Violin Sonata for oboe, alongside significant recent additions to the repertoire by Maria Dranishnikova and Thea Musgrave.

6.45pm: pre-concert talk by Ewan Millar and Prof Martyn Harry
