From buzzing flowers to living machines, go on a journey of the senses and imagination

Be immersed in the experience of the Electric Daisy in taste, sound and visuals at this multi-sensory event. You’ll be invited to take a sip of tea made with the Electric Daisy*, making your mouth vibrate in sync with a soundscape created using the flower’s frequencies, while watching captivating visuals created from microscopic footage of the flower.

Artists and researchers Joana Burd, Ned Barker and Nikolas Gomes have transformed data about the unusual flower (also known as Jambu) into an audio experience that invites the listener to think about our relationship with nature, our own bodies, and a future of living technologies.

Joana Burd is an artist, educator and researcher of haptic aesthetics and sound art. She is also currently writing up her PhD research at the Universitat de Barcelona, where she also works as a lecturer of Sound Art. http://en.joanaburd.com

Nikolas Gomes is a sound artist and musician based in Lisbon. His work deals mostly with the intersection of musical production and sound art, looking to push the boundaries between these two fields. https://nikolasgomes.com.br
