7 Years of Silence is rooted in the experience of immigration, and the shock that a migrant feels upon arriving in another country. Oxford-based Argentinian writer-director Lorena Briscoe uses poetry, humour and multimedia to follow a woman as she lands in a rainy, cloudy country from a faraway land to begin a new life.

Discovering a new language and culture, confronting isolation and answering questions which go round in circles: for a migrant, a seemingly ideal world can be full of disappointment when it proves impossible to truly join it.

7 Years of Silence explores Ulysses Syndrome, and the stress of the process of modern migration, while finding humour in the absurdity.
