Farniyaz Zaker’s current project enclaves revolves around the themes of exclusion and belonging. It explores how our language, clothes and built environment engender controlled and delimited spaces and communities that can both foster and suppress our physical and mental selves.

Farniyaz Zaker is a Oxford-based and Iranian-born artist and researcher whose practice engages a variety of mediums, including textiles, sculpture/installation, drawing, print, and video. Her works have been exhibited at the Sharjah Art Museum, the Ashmolean Museum, Pi Artworks Gallery, Stieglitz State Academy of Art and Design, the Laing Art Gallery, Etemad Gallery, Contemporary Istanbul Biennale, the Venice Biennale, Artissima Art Fair, and O Gallery.

Zaker’s work is held in major public and private collections, including: the Arter Museum and Art Centre, Turkey, the Koç Foundation, Turkey, the Videoinsight® Foundation – FASV, Italy, the Mark Rothko Art Centre, Latvia, the Agah Uğur Collection, Turkey and The Fondazione Elpis, Italy.
