Hansel and Gretel Woodchuck are all grown up but just won't leave the family home. Their mum and dad are tearing their hair out at the cost of feeding them all, never mind the size of the electricity bill. Can they come up with a cunning plan to get their troublesome twins out of the house, even if it is just for a day? Yes they can!
Come and see how Hansel and Gretel get on in the Magic Wood when they meet the Three Bears and Red Riding Hood. Can the Good Fairy Dame Lilac Bloomers save them from her wicked sister who lives in the Gingerbread Cottage? Will cheeky Magpies Sorry and Joy help or hinder? Watch out - there's a Scary Shrub behind you (On no there isn't).
With an original script and songs written just for this performance Hansel and Gretel - the not-so-babes in the wood will be a fun show for all the family, traditional panto with a modern twist.
The Magic Wood can be found just next door to Wolvercote Village Hall for five performances including a Saturday matinee. We have a cash bar with festive treats to buy before the show and in the interval. The Village Hall is level access for wheelchair uses and has an accessible toilet.
