Shining a Light on Englands significant fights for freedom and the movers and shakers behind them

Throughout English history, 'Freedom' has always been a key issue. Historian and author Andy Thomas takes us on a roller coaster ride through history, going right back to the rebellion of Boudicca against Roman invaders, through to Magna Carta, the Peasants' Revolt, and includes some of the influential movers such as Cromwell, Thomas Paine, the Suffragettes, George Orwell, bringing us finally up to the modern day to include the Poll Tax riots.

This online talk is part of a programme of monthly talks, many of which are live with live streaming for those unable to attend on the night.
