It’s always a special occasion when Sarah Connolly appears at the Festival, and we’re delighted to welcome her and Eugene Asti for this year’s closing concert. For this wonderful finale, they bring a programme of Robert Schumann and Johannes Brahms – coming full-circle from our opening night! – as well as songs by Richard Strauss and a young, still-Romantic Arnold Schoenberg. They also include a selection of songs from Gustav Mahler’s masterful, folk-inspired settings of 'Des Knaben Wunderhorn': an uplifting send-off.

Generously supported by Ian & Caroline Laing
