The Humble smock
Join us on Friday 19th August at 10.30am.

Take a closer look at the collection as our textile expert explores the evolution of the rural smock. They will lead you through the Treasures and Victorian Oxfordshire Galleries, revealing that history with real life examples from Oxfordshire's past. This will be followed by more discussion in the coach house.

We invite you to meet us at the museum on the 3rd Friday morning of each month to discover more about the collections on display or develop your creative side. You don’t have to come to every session, just choose what interests you. This is a new programme which will be a mix of art and craft as well as archaeology and history. Everyone is invited to join us, no need to book, just turn up. The approach will be very informal and will give everyone a chance to chat and learn from each other as well as from our staff and volunteers.
