The course provides sequential structured sessions aiming to unpick some of the theory behind a good and interesting composition in colour. You will work on studies and activities useful for representative and more abstracted contemporary painting, with the opportunity to apply your learning to personal project work.
Course subject matter will generally be extracted from still life for use as a vehicle for understanding aspects of painting, rather than the focus. Each session will be planned with a specific objective related to colour and composition. You will be encouraged to take an experimental approach with support from the tutor.
