Peter Ross studied in Newport, South Wales, and Bristol, spending most of his life teaching art in secondary schools and adult education. He has pursued his own work throughout this time and exhibiting on numerous occasions. His work has also been used to illustrate conferences and events in this country and abroad.

Ross always works in themes, one of the recent ones being a series on Dylan Thomas from which two paintings were selected for inclusion in the latest book about his life. This Welsh theme continues in this exhibition, part of which focuses on figurative paintings based on archived photographs illustrating a past life in the Welsh Valleys. Landscapes developed from his sketch books, observed locally in Oxfordshire and as well as on holidays in the British Isles, are the theme for the rest of the exhibition.
