Venue, Timing and Cost
Marmalade is back! Join us for a social change festival of discussions and events. This year we're exploring:
SERVICES FOR HUMANS
Creating and developing services that are responsive and effective – that really work for people.
- How do we involve a diverse range of people in the design and delivery of services (especially those with lived experience of those services)?
- How do we create more person-focused public services that are better able to respond to the complexity of problems present in our communities?
- Hear about work with local authorities and community groups to support parent advocates and peer support.
Bring your ideas and experience on Wednesday 6 April and help launch this inquiry.
SHARING POWER
Those with power are often not diverse or representative of the people they are trying to serve. We want to shift power about decision-making to people whose lives are directly affected by those decisions, and support them to meaningfully take the lead in areas that are important to them.
- How can we make space for people with lived experience to reclaim decision-making about their local area? Hear about work and experiences in this area, including local experiments in participatory grant-making.
Bring your ideas and experience on Thursday 7 April and help launch this inquiry.
MEANINGFUL MEASUREMENT
The way we measure and evaluate our work has a huge impact on what we prioritise, how we listen, and who holds power.
- How can we shift evaluation from being about accountability and chasing targets to listening and learning?
- How do we find ways of understanding what real change is taking place and how?
- How do we align approaches such as Storytelling, with the kind of measures that commissioners and funders are able to process?
Bring your ideas and experience on Friday 8 April and help launch this inquiry.
