Venue, Timing and Cost
Applications now open for September 2022.
Approaching its tenth academic year in September 2022 the Warehouse Art School (WAS) has built an ongoing connection with countless artists in Oxford and the surrounding area.
The course is run by artists for artists on a strong and mutual peer to peer basis.
WAS exists to support artists in the development of their professional practice and artists are supported by tutors and fellow students alike. Throughout the year students are challenged to a variety of projects in order to expose them to a broad range of creative practice which culminates in a public exhibition- organised by tutors and students to a high professional standard. These projects are intended to extend an understanding of the broad range of creative practice in contemporary art and for that to play a part in their personal development.
The course also invites many professional artists to give a talk about their practice, trips to exhibitions in London and elsewhere are made and two away trips are planned- one to a UK city and the other to a European city. The course is intense, challenging and focused on each individual artist and the development of their creative self.
Based at art-sauce in East Oxford, WAS is situated in a vibrant and creative part of the City close to other creative venues and excellent cafes, restaurants and bars. The City centre is a short bus ride away. WAS is also part of the new "art-sauce" non-profit organisation (www.art-sauce.org) which also runs many other creative art classes which WAS students are also welcome to join.
Applications are open now until the end of August.
