Alan Franklin, artist and Trustee of the School, will give an illustrated presentation entitled, 'Thinking Drawing'. Alan graduated in sculpture in 1977 at West Surrey College of Art and Design and later went on to complete his MA at Goldsmiths College in 1984. He recently retired and moved to Sunningwell after more than 30 years teaching Fine Art, mostly at HE and degree level in Banbury and High Wycombe. Throughout that time, he has continuted to make his own work and after a residency in Iceland 10 years ago he added drawing to his practice. However, he still thinks of this side of his work as flat sculpture. His talk will reference his own work, ideas, thoughts and opinons which he has developed over years of teaching and thinking about drawing.

Drop the team an email if you're planning on coming at sunningwell@artschool.org.uk

The talk will be followed by a Bring and Buy Art Materials Sale - bring materials you no longer need or use and take some new things home. Donations welcome!
