Venue, Timing and Cost
Artist Eiko Soga has just launched three exhibitions around Oxford city centre for TORCH's Japan Season!
Soga's work combines photography video, poetry and ethnography based on the value system of the Ainu, who are the indigenous people of the Japanese and Russian owned lands surrounding the Sea of Okhotsk. Soga has spent time with Ainu communities in Samani, Hokkaido, Japan to connect and develop this work.
'More-Than-Human World is on display in the #WindowGalleries 8th - 30th November
This exhibition presents photography based on Soga's work with indigenous communities called Ainu in Hokkaido, Japan. Through her research-led art projects, she has been questioning how the practice of art can embody and share ‘felt knowledge’ of the more-than-human world.
The other two exhibitions can be found in 95 Gloucester Green and in the Pitt Rivers Museum. More info here: https://torch.ox.ac.uk/event/empty-shop-...
