This year, for the first time as part of the Oxfordshire Artweeks , I'm opening up the Yellow Shed Pottery for visitors. The Shed will be open to display my work and I'll be demonstrating outside, under the gazebo. I'm really pleased with the pieces I've made this spring and I'm greatly looking forward to the opportunity to show them off! The work will be available to purchase - usual credit cards accepted.

I handbuild my work, using coils of clay, to form spherical vessels, called Moon Jars. These originated in Korea in the 17th century and have become an iconic ceramic form. I decorate the Moon Jars using both glaze and smoke; I apply glaze over parts of the jar using a sponge and then after glaze firing, I smoke fire the jars, accentuating the crackle in the glazes and bringing lovely smoky tones to the naked areas of clay. This Spring I have been working on a range of Moon Jars I am calling 'Cherry Blossom' as they invoke the spring-time cherry blossom I see from the window of my Yellow Shed Pottery.

To follow social distancing requirements, I am taking bookings for exclusive access to the Yellow Shed. To book your 30 min slot go to the link -https://calendly.com/debbiepageceramics, or email me. I am also happy to give virtual tours for those unable to visit in person - book thru the link and make a note requesting a virtual tour in the comments box and I'll make arrangements - either Zoom or Whatsapp.
