Sarah Christie - OVADA Art Talks Graphic

We are delighted to announce the Artist Sarah Christie will be joining us as the final guest in the current series of online OVADA Art Talks.

As part of our ongoing series of informal weekday morning talks, we invite professionals working in the creative industries to talk about their projects and contemporary practices. The series provides insights into specific cross-disciplinary areas of the arts and culture sector. The talks are held online via ‘ZOOM‘ – a widely used video communication platform.

Sarah Christie – Biography

Sarah Christie is an artist and educator working mainly in clay. She has a strong interest in material interactions, emergence and the senses, and works with clay in a variety of states, from liquid to dust. Breakage, fracture and instability are common threads in her work, and some of her most recent work has been site-specific and ephemeral. Her work often invites public participation, and in 2019 she showed a large public work in Southwark Cathedral.

Sarah is Visiting Artist at Imperial College Medical School, teaching tactile and visual observation skills and sculpture. She was the winner of UAL’s MEAD Scholarship in 2015 to support the creation of tactile objects used in her teaching at Imperial. She also leads visual arts workshops and supervises students on the BSc Humanities, Philosophy and the Law degree, also at Imperial’s Medical School, as well as running one-off clay and drawing workshops, including at King’s College London.

Tuesday 7th July, 11am

The duration of the talk will last approx. 30 minutes, and the following 10 minutes for questions.

Cost: £3

We are introducing a small charge to attend the talks series.

All of the proceeds from this event will be used to fundraise for OVADA during this challenging time.

Note: If you cannot attend the live talk, it will be recorded and available to purchase and you can then watch at a time more convenient for you.
