Let's Jam!

Join us at a two hour jam for friendly social dancing. Beginners and experienced dancers are welcomed. Practice your dance and movement with us - personal research and learning from others is encouraged. Please wear loose clothing and bring a water bottle. Do not attend if you have any symptoms of Covid-19. Thank-you.

This is our maxim: All life a dance; everyone a dancer; every moment a dance

All sales are online - book here https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/jam-dance...

Contact improvisation is a dance which originated in the 1970’s and which has now spread throughout the world. It’s often taught in university dance courses but it’s easy to learn and fun. It’s an improvised dance – a dialogue in movement – which has a fluid and dynamic form.

What does a jam look like? See (YouTube) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_quWWSoDvnk

We welcome musicians and anyone who wants to accompany the jam with music. Just bring your instrument and improvise with the dancing.

Location

We use the dojo - a martial arts hall for Aikido (a space with mats) that is located at the back of the community centre. If you are the front of the building, facing the the front door on the street then walk to your left and around the building. Continue up the driveway at the side of the building. There is an open gate on your right, into the back yard. The door to the dojo is open - come straight in.
