Learn how to use traditional glass paint

This is a follow-on course for those who have done an introduction to making stained glass. We will make a small panel, with no more than 6 pieces and no larger than 18 x 18 cm, and learn how to create an image in traditional glass paint, tracing lines and using a matt. Please note traditional glass paint is black or dark brown – colour is introduced by using coloured glass. Please come with some design ideas and a sketch book. Contact me if you would prefer me to suggest a theme or provide a design to work to.

Session 1 (whole day)
• Making thumbnail designs for a simple panel
• Selecting and adapting for practicality, drawing a cut line
• Selecting and cutting the glass; using an easel

• Drawing into a matt of paint
