This art course for absolute beginners offers a really relaxing and non-intimidating way of getting started with making art

On this introductory art course you will be exploring your creative side and surprising yourself with what you are able to create when you have a go. You will have lots of fun in the process, and will discover how nice it feels to take time out to make art.

This course is all about having a play, being curious, encouraging creative expression and discovering painting and drawing. You will get to try out both acrylic paints and a whole range of different drawing materials.

You will produce a lot of work! There will be lots of creative exercises and experiments to start with, and you will build up to producing 2-8 final artworks of your choice. I will support you to produce your own unique artwork rather than the more traditional teaching approach where you all end up painting exactly the same thing.

You will come away from this art course feeling inspired, wanting to go straight out and buy yourself some art materials, and with the enthusiasm to carry on making time and space for getting creative!

This art course is for you if the last time you made art was when you were at school, if you are curious to see what would happen if you did something creative again, and if you end up feeling intimidated when you read up about your more traditional art classes!

The courses are small – with up to 6 people – so you will get lots of individual support with your artwork. And the course is suitable for anyone aged 18 or above.
