Venue, Timing and Cost
What is it like curating a contemporary craft exhibition when there aren’t any objects until 2 weeks before the show? How do you manage a project where the outcomes are unknown? What are the challenges for contemporary craft curators? What opportunities are out there for exhibiting craft?
Join project coordinator and curator Melody Vaughan as she explores all these issues. Hear more about the development of the Makers & Tools project and her passion for supporting makers in the early stages of their careers.
This event is part of the Makers & Tools project.
About the project
The Makers & Tools project provides makers with the space and time to take risks in their practice, to explore new ways of collaborative working and to develop skills that will contribute to the success of their careers in contemporary craft. It provides valuable continuing professional development opportunities for makers in the SW and SE, and makes visible the process of craft to a wider public audience.
Makers & Tools is coordinated & curated by Melody Vaughan. It is funded in part by Arts Council England.
