This painting course for absolute beginners offers a really relaxing and non-intimidating way of getting started with painting

On this painting course you will be exploring your creative side and surprising yourself with what you are able to create when you have a go at painting. You will have fun in the process, will discover how nice it is to take time out to paint, and will feel incredibly relaxed after each session.

You will come away from the course feeling inspired, wanting to go straight out and buy yourself some art materials, and with the enthusiasm to carry on painting at home!

The course starts off by focusing on experimenting and exploring lots of different ways of applying acrylic paint – including printing, using pallet knives and paint brushes, and painted collage. This approach is all about having a play, being curious, encouraging creative expression and discovering how paint works, and on this part of the course you will produce a whole range of different samples and finished pieces.

Then you will build up to painting between 2-8 final artworks of your choice – which could be absolutely anything from landscapes, animals, flowers or people. I will support you to produce your own unique artwork rather than the more traditional teaching approach where you all end up painting exactly the same thing. The courses are small – with up to 6 people – so you will get lots of individual support with your artwork.

What people have to say about this painting course ….

“Fabulous. Inspiring. Everyone should try this course at least once in their lives and discover their creative side. Your techniques of getting us to open up and subdue the inner critic are wonderful. I wish this course was more widely available!” Claire Harvey

“A great course to get started at painting. A lovely relaxed & friendly environment where your creative side is gently teased out. I thoroughly enjoyed the course, found it very calming but also fun. I learned to become less critical and more patient with my work. My family were always very excited to see what I brought home each week. I will miss the opportunity to escape into another world – but – it has inspired me to start painting at home!” Anita Casey
