A Chamber Opera by Gavin Bryars, libretto by Marilyn Bowering.

It is the night of August 5th, 1962, the last night of Marilyn Monroe's life. As men enter her bedroom, viewing her body, we see moments of her life interweaved with love, relationships, ambition, fame, identity, abandonment, myth and ultimately, death.

This performance of Marilyn Forever will be the inaugural production by the Oxford Contemporary Opera Society and the UK premiere of the opera. Directed by Zerlina Vulliamy and conducted by Charlotte Corderoy, the opera will feature some of the finest performers in Oxford.

*There will be a pre-performance talk between Zerlina Vulliamy (Director), Gavin Bryars and Marilyn Bowering at 6.30pm on 22nd May.
