It’s hard to drag up when business keeps on dragging you down. But don’t fear, Raze Collective have gathered together some renowned queer artists to give you a helping hand. We’re talking the nuts and bolts of the backend of showbiz. Think workshops on funding, marketing, contracts, producing and much much more! It will also be an opportunity for artists to network with peers and see some of the UK’s newest queer performance. A professional development day for queer artists of all disciplines to skill-up, meet-up, and Raze Up!

11:00 – 12:30 – Book me please! A guide to performing professionally in clubs and theatres
This workshop will take you through the different offers, deals and set-ups you may encounter as a queer performer. It will look at the differences between queer clubs, cabaret nights and theatres, and show you what resources you’ll need to sell your work.

13:30 – 15:00 – Sell yourself! How to get your name out there
Make your presence known by following the useful tips in this workshop exploring how you can promote yourself online. We’ll look at how you use images, social media and networks to help spread the word about your art.

15:30 – 17:00 – Show me the money! Everything you need to know about budgets, funding and paying yourself
This workshop will teach you how to cost your act, how to write a budget and show you what you are worth, because believe me you’re worth it darling. You’ll also learn about different funding models including arts council funding.

17:30 – 19:00 – Queer performers Network: Join Raze and other queer performers to hear from award-winning queer artists and find out what’s going on in your city! A great opportunity to learn and network

19:30 – Queer Performance Showcase: An evening of exciting new queer performance specially commissioned by Raze Collective. £10.
