Akram Zaatari

On the opening night of his exhibition The Script join Akram Zaatari, acclaimed artist and co-founder of the Arab Image Foundation, for a conversation with Anthony Gardner, Head of School, Ruskin School of Art.

Born in Lebanon in 1966, Akram Zaatari is a filmmaker, archival artist, photographer and curator whose practice explores the ways in which the media depicts territorial conflict and war, as well as the circulation and production of images in the context of today’s geographic divisions in areas of the Middle East. Zaatari’s solo exhibition at Modern Art Oxford focuses on his on-going fascination with how people choose to present themselves to the outside world.
