Two-day workshop: Saturday 2nd & Sunday 3rd March.

Join Artist and Printmaker Juliet Bankes for an introduction to Collagraph printing. This weekend workshop offers an exciting two days of practical insights and experimenting with the techniques of this intriguing printing process. Collagraph printing involves collaging materials and textures directly onto a plate. The plate is then fixed before being inked up for printing through an etching press.

Day 1: 10:30am – 3:30pm (lunch break 1-2pm)
Preparing plates using various materials you will be encouraged to work with an experimental approach to building up layers and textures of the plates, at least two plates can be made on the first day.

Day 2: 10:30am – 3:30pm (lunch break 1-2pm)
Inking up the plates and then printing, applying colour.

This class is open to all, previous experience with printmaking is not required. Materials are provided within the cost of the class fee, including a limited supply of specialist paper with an option to purchase further sheets if desired.
