In a new format for 2019 the Folk Night that is an integral part of the Chipping Norton Music Festival will take place in the popular local public house - The Chequers
An informal evening with the feel of a traditional folk night, and space for individuals or groups to perform with feedback from an adjudicator, like our regular Festival classes. Everyone will be welcome to join in and take part, making music together. Turn up and perform on the day £5 or come and listen for FREE!
Performers will be given encouragement and feedback by the eminent David Oliver. He’s a leading Northumbrian dance band accordionist and caller. A passionate, cheerful, and engaging advocate of traditional music and dance of these islands, he loves to encourage everyone to be happy, confident and enthusiastic about participating and sharing in our great musical traditions.
