Miranda is a visual artist who creates collages and the occassional artist’s book. Miranda is fascinated by vintage ephemera such as old postcards, children’s books, paper sewing patterns, found photographs, volumes of encyclopaedias, lurid-coloured cookbooks, magazines and discarded papers are endlessly sought out, cut up, juxtaposed and transformed to create collaged works that play on our collective and fragmented memories … both visual and tactile.

The workshop will respond to and develop some of the ideas contained in the exhibition …a few of my favourite things… situated in the shop space, which is inspired by serendipity, nostalgia and memory.

Participants will be invited to try out a range of approaches and starting points for collage making using a wide selection of vintage materials as well as discovering more about the wider contemporary collage community.

The price of the workshop includes an XL specially selected and unique ‘make your own collage kit’ of vintage ephemera for each participant to take away and continue collaging with.

All materials will be provided for the workshop. No prior collage making experience is required. This is a fun opportunity to be playful and creative whilst exploring collage ideas, themes and techniques.
