A day-long workshop for anyone interested in Oxford's role in the First World War, run by the University's Globalising and Localising the Great War programme (http://greatwar.history.ox.ac.uk/). Speakers will include Clara Wigley (on May Wedderburn Cannan, her life and poems); Peter Smith (on the Port Meadow aerodrome); Caroline Roaf (on "Trenches and Destruction: Letters from the Front 1915-1919" by Pleasance Walker); Sue Smith (on conscientious objectors);
Malcolm Graham (on the 3rd Southern General Hospital, Botley Cemetery and Belgians in Oxford); Stephen Barker (on India in the First World War) and Rob Johnson (on TE Lawrence ''of Arabia'' and his 'Thinking on War'). Refreshments and lunch included.
